If AU, how is your character AU? Marlene's relationship with Regulus could be deemed AU (though it never said he wasn't involved with a half-blood either). The main AU points are the time Regulus became a Death Eater (18 instead of 16) and that Regulus went to see her before he went to the cave and went again after he found out she got killed. Also, they have a baby, but Regulus doesn't know.
Point in canon: After her death, or right before she dies. It's a blur so she's not real sure.

Yes, it is true that I went to the ball with Regulus Black. I have my reasons, though I don't wish to disclose all of them at this point and time. I will tell you this much--we have been close for some time now and it felt right to get it out in the open.

A few years ago, I would have loved a chance to go to a ball. Even a few months ago if it meant he would return to me. Now, I'm just not sure. I guess I've changed more than I thought.
A few years ago, I would have even gone alone, but this time I'm not going without him.
